Colin O’Banion, Ph.D., Max Planck Florida

Colin received his doctoral degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he joined the division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry in the Pharmaceutical Sciences program of the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. His work as a graduate student focused on developing light-controlled technologies for controlling drug release and delivery as well as protein based tools for controlling cell behavior. As a postdoctoral researcher at Max Planck, he develops new biosensors and actuators to observe and control how neurons behave during learning.
