Juliane Jaepel, Ph.D., Max Planck Florida

Dr. Juliane Jaepel joined the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in 2018. Using advanced optical methods to investigate neuronal circuits, her research focuses on understanding how computations in the primary visual cortex are influenced by signals from different visual areas. Dr. Jaepel earned her Ph.D. in Biology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, while working at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology, where she studied how the visual thalamus adapts to long-lasting changes in the visual input like the temporary closure of one eye.
